Before coming to Japan, I searched online for information about Japan and Japanese people. At that time, I saw information that said they were "serious" and "strict at work." But now that I'm actually working in Japan, I've found that Japanese people tell jokes during breaks and it's a lot of fun.

At first, the work was tough, but I got used to it in my second and third years. As I learned the ropes, my seniors started to acknowledge my abilities. Now I enjoy my work.

However, I found dialects difficult. Since I had only studied standard Japanese, I could hardly understand the Sanuki dialect spoken in Kagawa Prefecture at first because it was spoken so quickly. It may take some time to get used to a dialect, but once you learn it, you'll be fine. So, those of you who will be working in Japan from now on, don't worry.
