I came to Japan when I was 19 years old. My main reason for working in Japan was that I wanted to make my family happy. I had never worked in construction before in Indonesia, so I wanted to challenge myself with a new job and chose it myself.

At first, I found it difficult to learn the job. Now, my goal is to become a team leader, so I'm studying Japanese and learning how to do the job. I take notes on important work-related things on my smartphone, and I ask my seniors if I don't understand something.

One thing that surprised me when I came to Japan was the hot springs. In Indonesia, we don't have the custom of everyone getting naked and bathing in hot springs together, so I was embarrassed the first time I went in. I was also surprised by the cold of winter and the heat of summer while working.

In the future, I want to return to Indonesia and open my own cafe. I love seeing young Indonesians gather in cafes and have a good time. Right now, I'm working hard in Japan, slowly but surely moving towards my dream.
